biografische angaben: Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Zwierzynski received her psychology degree from the University of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro in 1971 and her M.A. in sociology from the Sorbonne. Learning of Chicago's activist mural movement of the 1970s, she moved to the United States, settling in Chicago in 1984, where she sought to combine her political beliefs and her artistic abilities. She is fluent in several languages and has worked with the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Services for UNESCO to produce materials for educational and economic development programs in Latin America. She has exhibited in São Paulo, Paris, Managua, New York, Vienna, and Chicago. A member of the Chicago Public Art Group, she participated in the mosaic project at Navy Pier's Gateway Park.
