biografische angaben: Born in Liverpool in 1956, Cauty was first an artist before moving into music with various bands.
Turning from music to visual art, in 2003 Cauty founded the blacksmoke Organisation, in part a response to the Bush/Blair invasion of Iraq. In 2005, he created the Cautese Nátional Postal Disservice DNPD. In 2008 Cauty suddenly disbanded the CNPD and offered its archive for sale. The Operation Magic Kingdom billboards and flyposters, however, remain some of the most powerful and memorable antiwar street art images.
