biografische angaben: Born 1946, Estelí, Farmhand at seven years. First schooling and pair of shoes at twelve years. Director, ENAPUM-DAS 1985–88. In France he has done fourteen murals to date (1995): in Evry, Lille, Marseilles, Montpellier, Paris (metro), Rennes, Saint Amand, Seelin, and Terrasson; in Austria, he has done murals in Graz, Klagenfurt, Salzburg, 1989.
«[Cerrato] studied from '65 to '70 in the National School of Plastic Arts of Managua. He continued his studies at the Taller Arte Reda in Lima, Peru and the University of San Josè in Costa Rica as a painter, muralist and graphic artist. In Nicaragua he was one of the promoters of artistic and cultural live of recent years: founding member of the ASTC (Association of Sandinista Workers of Culture) of the Ministry of Culture of Nicaragua, of the Laboratory of Experimental Graphics, the first workshop of handmade paper of the country, was for many years Professor of Painting at the School of Plastic Arts of Managua. Made exhibitions and murals in many public and private buildings as well as in his own country as in France, Austria and Italy (Lombardy, Veneto and Sardinia). Since 1984 he has been Director of the National School of Arts-Public Monumental in Managua. Since 1987 he is coordinator of the Nicaragua TALAMURO (Laboratory of Latin American Integration muralism and Plastic).
