biografische angaben: Born 1904 in Nasville, died 1968. American painter, designer, muralist and photographer. He studied at the School of the Art Institute with Louis Rittman, John Warner Norton, Boris Anisfeld, and others. He had additional training at the National Academy of Design and the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna, Atelier de Fresque and Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris, and Académie Egyptienne des Beaux-Arts in Alexandria, Egypt. He exhibited at Chicago's 1933 Century of Progress Exposition and at the Art Institute of Chicago eight times between 1931 and 1942 and was awarded several prizes and two traveling fellowships. He worked for the Federal Art Project, supervising the Elgin mural project.
