biografische angaben: 1907–73. American painter. He earned his B.F.A. at the School of the Art Institute and his M.F.A. form Instituto Allende in Mexico. He also studied with Boris Anisfeld and was active in Chicago as a painter and muralist, working for the WPA's Illinois Art Project in both easel and mural divisions. He taught at Michigan State University in East Lansing until his retirement.
