biografische angaben: Born 1890 in Mount Vernon, Illinois, died 1947. He received his bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Illinois in 1914. He taught at the University of Kansas and at Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, where he supervised the construction of buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. He had his own firm and was associated with Wright after 1929. Believing that architects should also be artists, he spent three years in Bototá, Colombia, and also traveled through Europe making sketches. The Italian government decorated him for his work on the Italian Pavilion at the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition.
