vorname: Mark

biografische angaben: Born 1946 in Buffalo, New York. Rogovin received his B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1968 and his M.F.A. from the School of the ARt Institute in 1970. He worked for Chicago's Urban Gateways for nine years, teaching and conduction mural workshops. He founded the Public Art Workshop several years later. After working with David Alfaro Siqueiros on his last mural, he felt it was important to make the work of the masters of the Mexican mural movement better known in Chicago. To this end he assembled a slide collection that he donated to the Mexican Fine Arts Museum. Another significant contribution to the mural movement was the Mural Manual, which Rogovin wrote in 1972 as a step-by-step guide to producing murals. The book sold fourteen thousand copies and spawned workshops all over the world. In 1980 he founded the Peace Museum and was its curator and director for five years.
