biografische angaben: Born 1889 in Marvejols, France, died 1955 in Paris. He won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1919, a gold medal at the International Exposition of 1937, and other awards. He painted his Palmer House ceiling murals in Paris on twenty-one separate pieces of canvas and shipped them to Chicago. He exhibited in New York in 1932 and executed a series of murals on classical subjects for the Park Avenue foyer of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. The foyer also hat a marble mosaic floor konown as Wheel of life, designed by Rigal.
