biografische angaben: Lucille Wong was born in Mexico City in 1949.
After taking several workshops with Robin Bond, Guillermo Santi, Koyo Okamoto and Luis Nishizawa, she went to Florence, Italy in 1986 to study artistic photography with Luciano Ricci and Roberto Ciabani.
She graduated from Mexico City’s UNAM with a degree in Modern Languages and later went to the University in Kent, England (1974-1976) where she got another degree in English Languages.
Wong also took several courses in Oriental Culture at the Colegio de Mexico in Mexico City.
Her asian background and her growing up in Mexico, have had a powerful influence in her work.
In 1974 she had her first solo exhibition. Since then, Wong has participated in over 150 collective exhibitions in Mexico and worldwide, as well as 35 solo ones.
Her work has been shown in Mexico, the USA, Canada, Chile, Panama, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Japan. In 1991, she was asked to paint the mural “GALOPE EN SILENCIO” for the National University UNAM in Mexico City.
